Chapter II. Ashtrays
This office fell into silence for about 0.5 seconds.
Immediately after that, Zira couldn't wait to slap himself in the face.
Because that police officer obviously thought that this joke of his wasn't funny at all, so he started to be incredibly serious and popularized a large set of knowledge about personal safety with himself.
By the time he had finally finished wheedling his way out of this hospital, it was almost 1:00 PM.
Zi Liang sighed as if he was burdened and paralyzed on the back of the chair, he felt that he was really annoyed with this city and everything in this city ...... but unfortunately, he couldn't leave yet.
So, he picked up a notebook on his desk.
It was a very ordinary book, only a little bigger than the palm of his hand, wrapped in black leather, with some burrs on all four corners, and it looked like it should be a little old ...... Ziliang casually flipped it open without caring about which page it would turn to.
Immediately after ...... he saw a blank sheet of paper.
"Hey--"
Zi Liang inexplicably sighed, as if he was originally expecting to see something on that white paper, and looked a bit lost anyway.
He then leaned back in his chair, ready to try and get some sleep through the afterglow of the officer's long speech earlier.
Suddenly, something seemed to occur to him.
Yeah, there were still several bags of garbage piled up at the door that hadn't been thrown out.
As soon as he thought of there being this, he became even more depressed.
Oh ...... right, Zi Liang said that he had seen that murderer.
This is not a joke.
Because just in the early hours of this morning, that murderous demon had really broken into this hospital in order to avoid being tracked down.
At that time, Zira was losing sleep because of the noise outside, and was sitting in his office going over his notes when he was directly caught, and that fugitive even put a gun he got out of nowhere on Dr. Zira's head.
It was around two o'clock, the darkest time of the day, and that murderer's perverted grin looked extraordinarily hideous in the darkness, and he had a gun in his hand, so Zi Liang had to put that murderer in a garbage bag in order to avoid any tragic accidents like a gun rubbing off on him.
It took him a full 5 large bags to finish loading it.
By the time he finished cleaning up the floor, changed into a new lab coat, and washed the blood off his hands, it was almost three in the morning.
Zira recalled the very unpleasant night, and looked at the rain that was tapping on the windows, and decided that he really didn't have much of a mind to deal with the trash.
So, he pulled out his phone.
"Hello, Joey?" He said, "Yeah, I've got a bit of a feed here ......"
As soon as the words left his mouth, the person on the other side seemed to look elated.
Zira continued nonchalantly, "Well, it's right by the door, so why don't you come over sometime and collect it away ...... It better not be too late, I've only got it wrapped in a garbage bag, and you know that smell emanates out pretty bad ...... Thanks lah. "
After saying this, Zi Liang hung up the phone, he let out a long yawn, feeling that things should be all done, then he leaned back in his chair, contentedly scratching his disheveled hair.
Outside the traffic seems to be much less, wild cats do not bark, no one should come to bother Zi Liang. The rain tapped on the glass very rhythmically, as if it was a sheep for him ......
So he nestled in the sofa chair and slowly closed his eyes ......
Finally, I can get a good night's sleep.
......
......
If the police officer on Halloween day was considered the first visitor, then when the second person walked into this small hospital, it was already two days later.
The first time Zi Liang saw this man, he knew that he was a gangster, which was evident from his colorful hair, the tattoos spread all over his body, and that gunshot wound mark on his shoulder that was purposely exposed.
Again, this man wasn't here for a visit.
"Where were you two days ago, the night before Halloween?" The gangster asked bluntly.
Zi Liang felt a little confused for a moment, feeling that the one who usually used to say such things should be a cop.
But he didn't bother to think about it much, he just wanted to get rid of the punk in a hurry.
"Forgot." He said with false eyes that seemed to be perpetually short of sleep.
"Shit! Don't try to muddle through!" The punk suddenly slammed his fist down on the desk, nearly knocking over the ashtray, "There was a man here that night!"
Along with this growl, a series of footsteps came clanging in the corridor, and then a group of oddly dressed guys barged in, stuffing this office full of people, some with iron bars, some directly flashing a spring-loaded knife, while those who stood in the back row with only one head exposed were desperately trying to put on their own grimaces.
Anyway, when the average person sees this situation, it should be enough to scare them to tears, and those with poor mental quality can even squeeze out a bubble of urine on the spot.
Zi Liang stared blankly at the scene in front of him, and his face instantly became bitter.
He figured it out in this instant.
The "people who came that night" that this gangster was talking about was undoubtedly the escaped prisoner, and these people were obviously in league with the escaped prisoner, because Zi Liang saw at least 5 people in the crowd who had the same tattoo as the escaped prisoner.
"Seems like an important person in a gang ah ......" he thought, and that fugitive should be carrying a cell phone or something else on his body, anyway, these people just followed the last signal to find this place.
In the whole street, there was only this one store of their own, so looking at this room full of people with a ferocious stance, surely it wasn't just a matter of finding a reason to muddle through.
As for telling them, your boss should be in Joey s feedlot right now, if you move fast, you should be able to find him ...... like teeth or something in the manure that hasn t been dumped, after all, that stuff isn t very digestible ......
Well ...... that answer doesn t seem to work either.
Thus, Zi Liang was depressed and lit a cigarette, and had already helplessly begun to wonder, with so much feed, Joey shouldn't be able to finish transporting it all at once ......
"Asshole! Did you ever listen to me again!" The gangster in charge pounded Zira's desk once again, pulling Zira's thoughts back.
It had to be said that the man was quite unfortunate, because this time he managed to shake the ashtray on his desk and broke it in half with a crunching sound ......
Zi Liang's fingers holding the cigarette froze in mid-air, seemingly looking panicked as he thought carefully, before sadly confirming that he should only have this one ashtray left.
That gangster looked at Zi Liang's appearance, completely did not realize what a wrong thing he had just done, and thought that this doctor was scared silly by himself ...... was when he was complacent with his own momentum ......
"What a nuisance."
He seemed to hear a light complaint, followed by a cigarette pressed out on his eyeball ......
