Chapter 4 Welcome to Hell
Time flies like a shuttle, and soon a month has passed.
A heavy roar suddenly resounded outside a plain valley, and a huge military heavy truck was spewing thick black smoke, speeding in from the distance. There was no road outside the valley, and the endless plain was filled with natural ditches. But under the truck's four pairs of huge tires with a diameter as high as one person, they were no longer obstacles.
The truck rushed to the mouth of the valley at full speed, only to make a sharp brake, the huge body like a huge beast trembled violently, and even flung horizontally, plowing a deep arc on the ground, and then came to a stop. The front of the power box a crackling murmur, the rear of several thick pipes in the black smoke does not come out, but from a valve to spit out a large cloud of steam.
The truck's cab door opened, and a soldier in his thirties looked out before leaping down from the two-meter-high cab, then placing a small boy he was holding in his arms on the ground.
The little boy was born with clear eyebrows, and his soft, short black hair was plastered to his forehead, which was already wet with sweat. His little face was pale, and there was the desperate attempt to hold back nausea, obviously tossed and turned by the heavy truck's wild driving style along the way. He shifted, straining to stay on his feet, wrapping the black cloak around him to protect him from the howling wind.
At the mouth of the valley had stood a man, a one-eyed man.
In the bitter, knife-like wind, he was bare-chested, with his hands behind his back and his feet equally divided, flush with his shoulders. This most basic military posture in the army was extraordinarily domineering and strong by him.
By himself, he blocked the entire path leading to the valley.
The middle-aged soldier carried Chiyo until he reached less than a few meters in front of the one-eyed man before stopping and saying, "Long Hai, you're still the same."
Long Hai grinned widely, revealing a mouthful of large teeth either gold or silver, and said, "Shi Yan, you're three minutes late."
Shi Yan said, "I encountered a squad of dark races on the road, and only delayed a little bit in order to kill them all."
Long Hai sneered, "Even a dark squad can make you late, it seems like your strength hasn't improved much over the years! Did you spend too long as a dog in the Lin Family and threw down your skills?"
Shi Yan, however, did not get angry, but said lightly, "Marshal Lin is the mainstay of the empire, and I'm already satisfied to be the Marshal's personal attendant. This kind of thing, you don't understand."
Long Hai grunted, not arguing with Shi Yan as his gaze fell on Qianye and said, "Is this the kid the OP was talking about? Why does it look like a little bitch! Can it be used."
Shi Yan laughed and said, "Anyway, he'll be training under you from now on, so if you don't see eye to eye with him, who cares who you want to clean up?"
Long Hai hummed again and said, "You should know that in our place, no matter who comes, no matter what status and background they have, they are all treated equally."
"This I naturally know."
"Then don't delay, let him come over!"
Shi Yan squatted down in front of Qianye, squeezing out an almost invisible smile on his stone-like face, stroking Qianye's head, and said, "Go, follow Instructor Long. Remember, first, whatever he tells you to do inside, you must do it immediately! Secondly, that is I hope to still be able to be in this place in a few years and see you come out alive."
Though Qianye was a bit bewildered, he also heard the heaviness in his words, and nodded heavily at that moment.
Shi Yan smiled, along the way, he already liked this little guy.
Qianye was a child who was quiet and voiceless most of the time, but his character was stubborn to the point of being almost stubborn. But once he promised something, he would definitely do it.
Long Hai's face showed slight surprise as he said, "I've known you for twenty years and I've never seen you smile so many times!"
When standing up, Shi Yan had slumped his face and became wooden and expressionless, saying, "How could I possibly smile when I see you?"
Several thick veins on Long Hai's temples suddenly jumped a few times.
A few moments later, the heavy-duty truck roared away, while Qianye followed behind Long Hai and walked towards the valley. The mountain road was rugged and narrow, and after walking for almost two hours, it still seemed like there was no end to it at all.
Thousand Nights looked to both sides, and suddenly saw a line of bloody letters on one side of the mountain wall: Welcome to Hell!
Qianye couldn't recognize all the words, but his eyes were like being sucked in, he couldn't move away. As he walked forward, he gradually turned his head until he could no longer see the words. Although he couldn't see the words anymore, they were deeply engraved in his young heart, each stroke dripping blood downward!
The sky gradually darkened, the valley was like a huge beast with its mouth wide open, waiting for Thousand Nights.
By the time it was late at night, Thousand Nights realized that he was already in a place even more terrifying than hell: the Yellow Springs Training Camp.
The hands of the clock moved towards twelve o'clock. Most people should be in dreamland at this time, but for the children of the Yellow Springs Training Camp, this was the beginning of a day of hell.
In a cold hall, Thousand Nights and hundreds of kids of about the same size huddled together and were listening to Long Hai lecture.
Long Hai walked back and forth in front of this group of children, occasionally stopping and sweeping his eerie gaze back and forth through the crowd one or two times, "Here, you only need to remember three things, the first is obedience, the second is obedience, and the third is still obedience! Here, orders will only be said once, and you will only have one chance! Now, all of you stand against the wall, and no one moves or speaks until a new order is given!"
A group of children pushed and shoved themselves against the wall in confusion. However they didn't wait for the next order.
With his hands behind his back, Long Hai left the hall with a big stride, then banged the iron door shut.
For the first ten minutes, the entire hall passed in silence. But after another ten minutes, some of the active children couldn't help themselves.
A young boy to the right of Qianye glanced at him and suddenly whispered, "My name is Liu Kai, my family is in business in Jianzhang Province. I heard that it's scary here, let's be friends from now on! My father said that two people are always easier to live than one."
What Qianye was thinking of at this moment was Shi Yan's parting words of advice: be sure to listen to Long Hai.
Long Hai had just said not to move or speak.
Seeing that Qianye didn't react, Liu Kai next to him was undeterred, "Hey! No one is watching us! Can you at least tell me your name?"
Seeing Qianye standing like a statue, not even moving a finger, Liu Kai helplessly muttered something.
Half an hour had passed, and some of the kids were starting to talk to each other, while others were swaying left and right, moving their legs and feet that were already a bit sore from standing.
There was a sudden ruckus in one corner of the hall, and a few kids got into an argument about something, then quickly scuffled and rolled around.
The commotion is already so big, also did not see the instructor appeared to stop, so the children more relaxed. After a while, a few of the fighting kids separated and returned to their original positions. At this point more kids started chatting and the hall gradually became noisy.
When the clock pointed to one o'clock, the iron door suddenly opened, and Long Hai walked in with large strides. Behind him, there was also a team of fierce and fierce men, each carrying a whip in their hands.
The temperature in the hall plummeted, and the children who were still in high spirits just a moment ago all had pale faces and were shivering.
Long Hai swept his one-eyed gaze across the room and nodded, ''Good! Very good! There are those who fight and those who talk. I was worried that I hadn't left a deep enough impression on you all, but now I see that my worries were redundant!"
Long Hai's face suddenly sank as he pointed towards the few children who had just participated in the fight and said, "Arrest them and tell the others what happens when you disobey the ban!"
This sentence sounded a bit strange, and many of the children were still at a loss, but some of the smart ones suddenly understood what was going on, and were even more scared to the point of paralyzing to the ground.
The six fighting children were dragged to the center of the hall like chickens and stood in a row.
Long Hai suddenly revealed a hideous smile and said, "Here, there is only one consequence for violating the ban, and that is ...... death!"
A big man flatly raised a strange firearm and aimed it at one of the children, the thick muzzle of the gun could be stuffed into a child's fist!
The muzzle of the gun suddenly spewed out thick red light, and the loud sound of the gunshot echoed through the closed hall, almost deafening one's ears!
After the red light flashed, the upper half of that little boy's body had disappeared, with only his legs remaining in place! The blood then splattered over ten meters, even spraying onto the opposite wall.
The big man revealed a bloodthirsty and cruel smile, turning his gun and aiming it at the next child.
That was originally a young boy with a bratty face, but now he finally panicked and shouted, "No! I don't want to die, my uncle is an Imperial General! He ......"
The sound of gunfire boomed again, cutting off the next half of his sentence.
"An Imperial General? Hehehe, it's the son of an Imperial Marshal, as long as he enters here, he'll end up the same way if he violates the ban!" The big man sneered.
Gunshots continued to roar, and after six shots rang out, the center of the hall was already drenched red with blood and broken flesh.
Long Hai added at this time, "Now, those who have just opened their mouths and spoken, step forward by yourself, strip off your clothes, and get down! You guys are lucky, just three lashes is considered punishment. However, if anyone tries to lie to me, then they will end up like those six little brats!"
The children looked at each other, and many trembled as they walked to the center of the hall, stripped naked, and got down honestly. And there were less than twenty left still standing against the wall.
"There's really no one left?" Long Hai asked again.
The two children who were originally leaning against the wall came out warily again.
Long Hai nodded and said, "You two, five lashes each!"
The two children's faces turned pale, but it was too late for them to regret.
Long Hai suddenly reached out to the four children standing against the wall one by one, and his tone turned morose, "Since you dare to lie to me, then go to hell."
The four crying children were then grabbed to the center of the hall before four deafening gunshots rang out.
Just like that, on the first night of arriving at the Yellow Springs Training Camp, Chiyo understood most clearly what would happen if they violated the ban. Also on the first night, the batch of new trainees was one-tenth less all of a sudden.
At three in the morning, Chiyo was with the other kids and was herded into a large room.
There were rows of bunk beds set up here, and each child silently chose a bed and lay down to sleep. No one spoke or cried.
Chiyo laid down on her back as she was always accustomed to doing, but suddenly popped into a sitting position as she was stabbed by a sharp pain in her back.
The children's moans of pain continued to come from the darkness, but they were all clearly suppressing their volume.
Chiyo rolled over and carefully lay on her back to keep the whip marks on her back from being irritated.
Chiyo had been similarly whipped.
There were only eleven children who had followed the order as strictly as he had, and these eleven children were given special privileges: they were only given one whip.
